Affiliated Genetics Inc. (AGI) was founded in April 1994 in order to provide DNA-based diagnostic testing focusing exclusively on human identity. AGI is committed to provide outstanding customer service with a highly trained staff of scientists, technicians and customer service representatives. We have an ongoing research effort to develop new ways to enhance DNA identity testing and provide the services that our customers need. The laboratory meets and exceeds all relevant standards for paternity and forensics laboratories and is one of less than 40 laboratories world-wide accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) for relationship testing. Affiliated Genetics is CLIA, CAP and AABB accredited. We provide a wide range of clinical testing and laboratory services to researchers, law enforcement and corporate clients.

AGRF provides DNA and RNA extraction services for a wide range of starting materials including the Oragene Saliva self-collection kits. The appropriate extraction system is selected, or customised, according to the requirements of the project. BioRep S.r.l. is an independent "SERVICE PROVIDER" organization offering biorepository services to public and private research institutes, to the highest standards of quality and safety. In addition to the storage service, BioRep provides Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Media preparation services developed in ISO9001/2000 certified laboratories (i.e. establishment, maintenance and distribution of cell line cultures as well as DNA derived from these cultures; nucleic acids isolation and distribution, genotyping, sequencing; mycoplasma detection in animal cell cultures; etc).

Description of Services

DNA and RNA extractions, Realtime PCR analysis, SNP analysis using Sequenoms iPLEX system, expression analysis using the Taqman system. Manual extraction of RNA and DNA. We utilize our proprietary DNA extraction reagents, DNAQuick for DNA extraction from most of the sources. We also utilize Qiagen column protocols for some sample types. For RNA extractions we typically use Tri-reagent method and some times utilize Qiagen column based protocols. We have Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) for all the different applications.

Description of Services

The Research Cell Bank (RCB) is a qualified, experienced laboratory that has been actively engaged in clinical research through B-lymphoblastoid cell (B-LCL) transformation and maintenance, DNA extraction, and inventory control for more than 30 years. The RCB is engaged in contractual, fee-for-service work for external entities requiring a large laboratory with expertise in the processing of blood and tissue samples, production of B-LCL, DNA extraction, cryopreservation, and maintenance of a large-scale frozen repository.

Applications:

Purification of DNA using Oragene is only done manually utilizing a modified salting out protocol with 5 Prime reagents. Isolated genomic DNA is rehydrated in T/E buffer at room temperature. The concentration of DNA is determined by a Spectramax 384 Plus spectrophotometer optical density (OD) measurement at 260 nm; the relative purity by OD 260/280 ratio.

Genetic Repositories Australia (GRA) is a national genetic repository for DNA and cell lines derived from appropriately consented disease-specific and population-based studies. GRA has been supported by an NHMRC Enabling Facility Grant and is based at the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute (POWMRI).

GRA provides researchers with a central facility for the processing, long-term secure storage and distribution of human genetic samples (DNA and cell lines). This includes the production and provision of immortalised lymphoblast cell lines and DNA samples.

GRA service requests currently cover cell line establishment and DNA extraction from human whole blood, saliva (Oragene), cell lysates and cultured cells.

Masmec Biomed designs and provides devices for the medical and biotech sectors. We have a solid background in mechatronic, robotic and signal processing technologies, as we are a division of MASMEC S.p.A, a leader in this field. Our products are developed by a team of specialists combining different skills and expertise in computer science, electronics, biomedicine and biology.

We specialize in liquid handling for automatic DNA and RNA extraction and plate preparation for research and analysis labs. We offer a family of biotech workstations, named OMNIA, fitting many protocols in molecular biology, genomics, proteomics and pharmacology. OMNIA workstations support human, animal and plant DNA and RNA extraction, amplification setup, plate preparation, post-PCR purification and biobanking for research and analysis, enabling fast, accurate and very flexible processing. OMNIA Prima is an automated system for extracting DNA and RNA from blood, saliva or other biological fluid samples, tissues and plant samples(leaves, roots). This workstation is based on magnetic bead technology and it is able to process up to 24 samples at a time in less than 100 minutes. It is possible to use one of the recommended and validated extraction kits, whose automatic protocol is already available, or to test and employ other magnetic bead-based kits or specific protocols, counting on customized management for each lab.

Technical support is guaranteed during the whole life cycle of any MASMEC Biomed product. After first extraction tests with our instrument and your kits, we can provide genomic services for DNA and RNA extraction for your customers starting from your Oragene kit. At the same time we are looking for international distributors of our instruments.

Description of Services

OGT was founded in 1995 by the pioneer of microarray technologies, Professor Sir Edwin Southern. The key focus areas of OGT are high throughput microarray and biomarker discovery. OGT also has an extensive range of cytogenetic products and services, including high resolution oligonucleotide arrays, labeling kits and our analysis software, Interpret.

Applications
