The successful candidate will assume responsibilities for R&D activities directed towards the introduction of future products to meet new market opportunities. You will join a strong Research and Development science team and will be given the opportunity to grow and develop your career.
Additionally you will:
- Designing, developing, innovating and executing laboratory experiments.
- Managing project timelines, including directing Lab Technologist research activities.
- Participating in a wide range of scientific discussions.
- Making presentations to scientific staff and management.
- Preparing scientific papers and company white papers.
- Reviewing scientific literature in areas of interest to the company.
- Assisting in the development and refinement of laboratory protocols as required for Good Laboratory Practice.
- Assisting in the preparation of patents and/or regulatory submissions arising from DNA Genotek research activities.
Education Required:
- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, virology and/or cell biology plus a minimum of 2 post-doctoral years of additional training. In exceptional cases, an equivalent combination of relevant job experience and on-the-job training may be suitable.
Experience and Other Requirements:
- Prior experience in an industry setting an asset but not essential.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and scientific abilities.
- Experience in nucleic acid biochemistry or infectious diseases an asset.
- A keen interest in science, particularly in the development of scientific methodologies.
- Strong academic standing and record of scientific publications.
